Aloha Food Tours was launched in 2013 with one goal in mind. To introduce visitors and locals alike to unique and delicious cuisine that showcases Hawaii as a melting pot of culinary exploration for people all around the world. The diverse ethnic demographic of Hawaii ensures that there are many Asian fusion dishes along with local’s traditional cuisine that can’t be found easily in other destinations around the world.
I am Aloha Food Tours’ founder and my name is Ryan Conching. I am a true foodie at heart. I am a born and raised Hawaii local with part Hawaiian ancestry, and I have lived here in beautiful Honolulu my entire life. My mother being Malaysian, I grew up eating many ethnically diverse dishes from a young age. One of the things that I can say I got used to that it seems everyone can’t eat is durian, as that is a fruit native to Malaysia! While I enjoy trying new restaurants around the island and while on vacation at other destinations around the world, my love for food is what shaped the idea for this company. One of the top travel activities in the world is dining, so instead of trying one restaurant for one meal, why not try multiple dishes from multiple eateries in a little more time than it would take you to eat a standard lunch, all while learning fascinating facts and tidbits that make Hawaii one of the most sought after places to vacation to.
All of the restaurants and eateries we taste from on our tours are locally owned and independent, not chain restaurants found elsewhere in the world. A lot of the dishes we feature on our tours are Asian influenced as Asian’s make up the majority of our state’s demographic.
Aloha Food Tours was founded to provide a fun, unique experience for anyone who loves to eat! The great thing about our tours is that whether you are a local Hawaiian or a tourist to the area, there is something for everyone on our tour. During your 2.5 hours with us, we will show you restaurants and specialty food stores that are off the beaten path and will show you a whole new world of culinary adventures in Honolulu.
